I have been a certified eyelash technician since 2014, I always recommend liquid eyeliner when you have eyelash extensions, it’s easier to apply and remove (usually) until my sister said I need help with my lashes, I used a new eyeliner Tuesday and she was trying to wash the liner off up until and including Saturday. 4 almost 5 days worth of washing your eyes/makeup off and it still isn’t off? When she arrived Saturday it was clear the lashes were all coated with something similar to a glue/latex/thick sticky and it would not come off her lashes. The lashes could not be cleansed and filled... I did a lash cleanse but the brush wouldn’t even go though the lashes, so I did eyelash removal gel which typically sits for a few moments and the lashes come off easily with a nicroswab this was NOT the case, it took THREE cycles of removal gel, swabbing, brushing, rinse the lashes, new pads and restart the process each time so she could water rinse her eyes to ensure no gel, glue, lashes or the liner went into the eye. After three hours we were able to remove the lashes, cleanse, rinse and prime and finally put on a new set of eyelash extensions! So when choosing the proper makeup products for maintaining healthy lash extensions please DO NOT USE a tattoo effect eyeliner/latex with eyelash extensions.

We all have some essential products we love, we are also always looking for suggestions.. in my first blog post I am sharing with you my favourite top 10 products I use. Some of which we will retail in the salon because I love them and personally use them. No. 1I will start with my face... my absolute favourite and must have items are cleanser, serum and moisturizer I particulary use the CALM line by Arbonne, it reduces my redness and skin sensitivities. No. 2QUICKIE ME by Design Me, this is a dry shampoo, they offer a light, dark and foam formula, I have used them all and I always carry both light and dark for my dark roots I use the brunettes tone and it doesn't look white or thick and then for the rest of my hair I use the blonde tone. This product is very lightweight and goes a long way. No. 3I love to exfoliate and I love coffee so the perfect combination is Coffee Beauty's coffee scrubs! BONUS it's local founded and made right here in Moncton :) This product exfoliates amazingly and leaves the skin feeling moisturized. No. 4Milkshake Silver Shine Shampoo & Condition, I am naturally a dark brown with red undertones so maintaining my grey/blonde to not be a brassy colour is hard work and this product has absolutely made this a lot easier!! We carry this line of haircare products in the salon because we love it. No. 5A WET BRUSH, a must in my life. It makes my hair brushing so much easier, less breakage and cuts through the knots like a boss. These will be available to purchase in the salon. No. 6IT Cosmetics CC Cream... it's a matte foundation that is lightweight great for those with oily skin, it reduces the mid-afternoon shiny look added bonus it has SPF. I purchase this product at Sephora. No. 7GLOSS ME by Design Me... this is heavenly. I use a tiny amount of this after I blow dry my hair on the ends and it looks like I straightened my hair!! It also helps with fly aways and reduces having any static. We will have this product available in the salon when we open. No. 8It's another milkshake product... it's LEAVE IN CONDITIONER SPRAY. I struggle with knots and this helps get through my hair easier, and has a great scent! No. 9Hair treatments are very important for me as 80% of my hair is blonde and I am a natural brunette. I use KPAK Color Therapy. No. 10Lady Suite Probiotic Cleanser, I enjoy this product for a delicate feminine wash helps keep our pH balanced and very gentle.
