Is Luxe a Salon or Spa?
We are a salon and here’s why. The differences begin when arriving at a salon or a spa. A salon is typically smaller than a spa, and while it may have a few private treatment rooms, most of the services take place out in the open, in the main room. Salons are often more open concept. A spa will typically be a much larger facility with a number of private treatment rooms, have spa music and very little to no talking amongst staff or clients. Visitors to a salon will generally remain in their street clothes, while clients at a spa will often switch into robes. A trip to the spa is meant to be a relaxing experience that lasts all day, or at least for a few hours, so many spas offer refreshments such as appetizers, beverages, or even a light lunch. The food found at a spa is typically very healthy. A spa may also offer alcoholic beverages such as champagne or wine. Another difference between a salon and spa is price. Even if the services offered at each location of a salon and spa are exactly the same, a spa will generally be much pricier than a salon. At luxe we identify as a salon and we create a salon versus spa atmosphere at each of our locations for a few reasons. One of the reasons is we want to offer hair and nail services at each location which is a chatty service and our clients love to come in and talk. We play a wide range of music which also makes us a salon whereas spas typically play relaxing sounds. In our salon we have our beds divided by heavy room dividing curtains but we do not have treatment rooms. We do offer services that are “spa like” such as facials, chemical peels and dermaplaning but we keep our prices more affordable for these services and quality products so you still receive an amazing service but you won’t be there to nap. The type of staff Luxe has are all similar in personality and we do that to ensure everyone enjoys their experience our staff all love to talk & laugh.
